First MDS-AOS Basic Scientists Summer School
Taipei - July 13-15, 2014

Course Description This course is aimed to confront the next generation of basic scientists and young clinicians with the latest advances of preclinical disciplines in movement disorders. The goal of this course is to create a common language and generate ideas that will allow development of new translational projects developed by the next generation of researchers in movement disorders.

Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to accomplish the following:

• Describe the etiology, pathophysiology and mechanisms of neurodegeneration of movement disorders
• Interact with basic scientists and movement disorders specialists
• Understand how to write, review and submit a scientific paper
• Analyze research articles and revise research projects

Recommended Audience This course is intended for young neurology residents, movement disorders fellows, graduate students, post doctoral students and junior scientists all less than 40 years old. *Attendees who submit research projects or unpublished manuscripts for group discussion will be considered with high priority to participate in the course.
